You aren't alone. I had no idea fanfiction had its own rating system either. Wow.

1. This is nothing to laugh about, and yes, I am surprised.
2. Yes, fantasy is fantasy, if it stays inside your own mind. If not, see below.
3. It's already happened. That's one reason this sort of thing upsets me so much. One guy, admittedly not a very smart one, used this as a defense in court. 'Girls love that sort of thing'. I don't think he was lying, he was just that stupid. And if it's happened, once, it can happen again. So, it's a fact that more than one woman has been raped because of other women's fantasies. In fact, one might argue that you and all the other women with this kind of fantasy could be considered accessories to the rapists. Have you ever considered that?

1. LOL at you being surprised at this?

2. Fantasy is fantasy, and completely legit. People have a lot of fantasies. Fantasy rape is completely different from real rape. (Of course, to those with triggers, there might be upsetting outward similarities.)

3. I don't see how one woman's fantasy could get another woman raped? Unless somehow men got the idea from one woman's admitted fantasy that all women wanted to be raped in real life (which is a real trend we have to educate against - yes means yes). And it's true if one woman admitted she had a rape fantasy and a man took it too far, that would be a real concern, but that's why we have safe words and scenes and consent.

So getting other women raped is pretty much nothing to worry about in your book? Of course, that's pretty much what I expected from you people. Charming.

"If someone had asked me a couple of years ago, if I believed women had fantasies about being raped I would have said no."

Have you ever cracked an older (circa 1950-1970 and not a few later ones, even to this day) romance novel? There's rape and borderline-rape all over the place in them.

"That’s something they should consider before they admit to having these fantasies."

Sounds kind of like you want to shame a lot of women for having a very common fantasy, one that can be a bit unnerving to have in the first place, because "Their misguided fantasies can make life more difficult for other women (or even ruin their lives forever)".

So woman A isn't allowed to own her sexual fantasy and work on becoming a complete sexual being, because woman B, off somewhere in the foggy world, might have a more difficult life because of it? Yes, this fact can be twisted and misused by the patriarchy (actually, it has been for hundreds of years already. See: Freud) That doesn't mean that with a proper understanding of the difference between real and pretend, between make-believe and truth, that these fantasies can't be explored and mined for lessons, healing, and eroticism.

Stuff like this is why third wave feminism came out. I know that this precise issue has been addressed by women much more eloquent and intelligible than I.

These are great recommendations. I'd say the most important one is reading. The more exposure people give themselves to the written word, the more the conventions of writing will drill themselves into their heads.
